Local employers in hiring mode

Posted online
Several local employers are in the market to hire hundreds of combined workers.

Today, the Missouri Job Center and Ozark Region Workforce Development Board are helping Pyramid Foods hire more than 75 employees for the company’s new health food concept Ruby’s Market on East Sunshine Street. Ruby’s Market is scheduled to open by early March.

“The Ruby's Market team will be health-conscious, knowledgeable and committed to service,” officials said in a news release. “The Ruby's brand will showcase quality and full service in offering local and organic food choices, health products, online orders and delivery, and value pricing."

Nixa-based telemarketing firm Paramount Communications plans to hire 15 within a month, adding to its current staff of 45.

The company that promotes events and seminars plans to hire another 55 employees by year’s end, according to a separate release.

This week, the Missouri Job Center assisted with Branson events for more than 20 jobs. They were:
    •    Branson ZipLine, 14 positions;
    •    Bee’s Cleaning Service LLC, 5; and
    •    Lynina Inn, 2.

The job center also helped CoxHealth yesterday with a previously announced hiring fair at its south Springfield hospital for 100 employees.

The center today is helping Wyndham Vacation Ownership and Silver Dollar City Attractions.

The division of Wyndham Worldwide is seeking 40 customer service representatives to work in Springfield. Silver Dollar City wants an unknown number of new employees but a “large number” during job fairs today and tomorrow for SDC, Showboat Branson Belle, White Water and The Wilderness Campground, said Megan Short, spokeswoman for the Missouri Job Center. An SDC news release referenced “multiple openings in more than 30 career paths.”
