Give Ozarks fundraiser tallies over $1M

Posted online
All told, Community Foundation of the Ozarks’ inaugural Give Ozarks event raised $1.02 million for its nonprofit partner agencies.

During the 24-hour fundraiser launched May 5, there were 7,649 donations - not including individual cash donations made at Give Ozarks-related events - pledged to about 150 participating nonprofits representing 46 communities in CFO’s 58-county service region, according to a news release.

“It’s so refreshing to be reminded just how generous and helpful our friends and neighbors are,” CFO President Brian Fogle said in the release.

Via GiveOzarks.org, a website using CFO’s crowdfunding portal Cause Momentum, donors could pledge support to the nonprofits of their choice. The total fundraising figure includes $92,975 in prizes provided by sponsors and $120,000 in CFO endowment matching funds awarded to 24 agencies.

The largest single fundraiser was Lampe-based Lives Under Construction Boys Ranch Inc., a Christian residential treatment program for at-risk male children. The organization raised $71,809.

During Give Ozarks day, around 30 percent of donors indicated they were first timers. CFO reports 675,000 unique hits and 32,000 unique visitors to the campaign’s website, according to the release.[[In-content Ad]]
