Willard Public Schools appointed a chief operations officer.
Cathy Shoup, a district employee since July 2017, is slated to take on the role July 1, according to a news release.
The COO position encompasses the duties of the assistant superintendent of operations and adds support to human resources and finance. The district last month announced current Assistant Superintendent of Operations Eric Wilken would become superintendent on July 1.
"Cathy Shoup is going to bring a high level of excellence to this role," Wilken said in the release. "Her ability to bring the best out of her teammates will only continue to solidify where our district is going."
Shoup currently is director of activities for Willard Public Schools. She previously held the same job title at Rolla Public Schools.
"I’m proud to lead an operations team that ensures the safety, well-being and opportunity for student learning each day," she said in the release.
