HOMELESS HELPER
U.S. Cellular associates stand behind Marshfield youth Emma Sandbothe, a recipient of the wireless company’s The Future of Good program and a $10,000 prize. The 9-year-old was surprised with a celebratory parade past her home May 28. U.S. Cellular is raising awareness for youth causes and increasing their impact through financial contributions. Sandbothe was one of five youth selected, out of thousands nationwide, for her work starting Emma’s Homeless Helper Project. Through donations, Sandbothe collects hygiene and nonperishable food items, plus clothing, to provide to domestic violence and homeless shelters. To date, Emma’s Homeless Helper Project has donated nearly 500 hygiene kits, 100 food kits and 300 pairs of socks.
