University presidents Glenn Coltharp, left, and Tim Cloyd on June 4 celebrate a new partnership between Crowder College and Drury University. Officials say the agreement makes it easier for Crowder’s associate degree students to pursue bachelor’s degrees at Drury. Beginning in August, Drury will provide upper-level seated and blended courses at Crowder’s Cassville campus in two bachelor’s programs: organizational communication and development, and behavioral and community health.

DOWNTOWN PHILOSOPHY
Artist Brad Noble on June 21 works on a new mural at the corner of South Avenue and Walnut Street in downtown Springfield. The 328 South Ave. mural replaces a butterfly image, which was recreated across the street in April by artist Andrea Ehrhardt. The new mural pays homage to ancient Chinese philosopher Lao Tzu, the so-called father of the spiritual concept called Taoism. The building’s owner, Wolf Residential LLC, also operates an office in the building, which has undergone renovations in recent months.
