The Vecino Group LLC made a hire for a newly created position.
Joshua Koss started July 19 as general counsel for the Springfield development company, said Patrick McWhirt, creative director for The Vecino Group. Koss works out of The Vecino Group's Troy, New York, office.
“Being general counsel of Vecino is nothing short of a dream job for me," Koss said in a news release. "I see it as a synthesis of my prior experiences – creative, practical, sophisticated, mission-oriented."
Koss is the sole counsel for The Vecino Group and manages multiple external relationships across the company's departments, said McWhirt. He will oversee all of the company’s contracts and manage third-party counsel teams.
A graduate of the University of Virginia School of Law, Koss most recently worked as an attorney for Albany Law Firm in New York. There, he oversaw more than $250 million in commercial real estate and merger and acquisition transactions, according to his LinkedIn profile.
The Vecino Group has a portfolio of projects nationwide. In Springfield, the company is working with Missouri State University on an expansion of the school's IDEA Commons area downtown.
Utah-based gourmet cookie chain Crumbl Cookies opened its first Springfield shop; interior design business Branson Upstaging LLC relocated; and Lauren Ashley Dance Center LLC added a second location.
