A mass vaccination site that's delivered tens of thousands of doses over four months is being phased out.
The Springfield-Greene County Health Department and Jordan Valley Community Health Center announced the site at 1720 W. Grand St. is winding down in favor of smaller, more convenient settings at events, neighborhood centers, businesses and nonprofits, according to a news release.
Since launching Feb. 3, the center has administered more than 41,000 COVID-19 vaccines, according to the release.
Jordan Valley purchased the former Price Cutter building to be used as a future clinic. When the 50,500-square-foot property turns full service, it would be the second-largest clinic for Jordan Valley, after its 70,000-square-foot center and headquarters downtown, according to past reporting.
Jordan Valley officials previously said an opening date for the clinic had not been set. A spokesperson could not be reached for comment by deadline.
Utah-based gourmet cookie chain Crumbl Cookies opened its first Springfield shop; interior design business Branson Upstaging LLC relocated; and Lauren Ashley Dance Center LLC added a second location.
