University of Arkansas buys school in Kansas

The University of Arkansas agreed to buy Grantham University in Lenexa, Kansas.

The system is acquiring Grantham’s assets and assuming its “discrete liabilities” for $1, with the deal expected to close early next month. UA System President Donald Bobbitt has said that the school’s owner would take a loss of $8 million to $10 million on the sale.

The University of Arkansas will combine Grantham with its current online operations.
