United Way of the Ozarks filled a vice president role with an internal promotion.
Rachael Walsh started May 10 as vice president of resource development after previously serving as the nonprofit's director of resource development since 2018, according to a news release. The position was left vacant by United Way during the coronavirus pandemic.
“Rachael’s ability to help connect and strengthen financial support to our community’s education, health and financial stability resource needs is vital to the Ozarks,” said Greg Burris, president and CEO of the local United Way office, in the release. “We’re excited to have Rachael lead our resource development efforts, which will ultimately result in improving the lives of thousands of children, adults and families in our community.”
In her new position, Walsh is responsible for raising funds to focus on crisis intervention and address root causes of poverty. She's slated to work with current and potential donors.
United Way last year hired Vickie Hicks as director of resource development, with Walsh sharing that role until her promotion this month.
United Way last month announced its annual campaign raised $2.5 million – about flat compared with the prior year.
