The United Arab Emirates is moving its weekend.
Like most Persian Gulf nations, the country has worked Sunday-Thursday with its weekend on Friday and Saturday. Now, the UAE is moving to Saturday and Sunday, with a half-day of rest on Friday.
Government officials said the schedule change is "in line with the UAE’s vision to enhance its global competitiveness across economic and business sectors, and to keep pace with global developments."
