The Twisted Mike’s food truck has closed after three and a half years, the company announced in a Facebook post this month.
Michael Easley operated the food truck at the SGF Mobile Food Park, 836 N. Glenstone Ave., and at events.
“We have had a blast. After a lot of thought and consideration, I have decided to close the truck,” Easley wrote in a March 1 Facebook post. “You will continue to see us on social media, TV and radio, so please stay tuned and see what’s next. (Sorry, no brick and mortar).”
Easley, who could not be reached for comment by deadline, further teased future offerings from Twisted Mike’s in the comment section of the Facebook post. He said he closed the truck because he “got burned out from being so busy all the time.”
Known for its brisket tacos and “crack” fries, among other menu items designed to be comfort foods with a twist, Twisted Mike’s opened in September 2015. In a February 2017 Business Spotlight article by Springfield Business Journal, Easley said he was considering a brick-and-mortar venture and franchising. He also opened a separate food truck business called The Waffle Co.; it’s unclear whether that venture is still operational.
