Trump administration investigates STL college for 'race-exclusionary practices'

Washington University in St. Louis is among 45 colleges being investigated by the Trump administration for alleged "race-exclusionary practices."

The investigation by the U.S. Department of Education's Office for Civil Rights alleges the schools violated the Civil Rights Act through partnerships with The Ph.D Project. The latter nonprofit works to increase diversity in business by helping members pursue PhDs.

“The department is working to reorient civil rights enforcement to ensure all students are protected from illegal discrimination," U.S. Secretary of Education Linda McMahon said. “Students must be assessed according to merit and accomplishment, not prejudged by the color of their skin. We will not yield on this commitment.”
