Conway Duncan Inc. is the mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineer for the renovation of the 100-year-old Pittsburg Community Middle School. The $16.5 million bond-funded project has a goal to provide students with a modern learning environment and includes upgrades to all four floors, classroom remodels, a science laboratory, renovated auditorium and Americans with Disabilities Act-compliant elevator. Corner Greer & Associates Inc. (Joplin) is the project architect and McCownGordon Construction LLC (Kansas City) is the construction manager. Additional engineering work is by Professional Engineering Consultants Co. (Wichita, Kansas), civil, and Tatum Smith Welcher Engineers Inc. (Rogers, Arkansas), structural. The project is expected to be completed by August.
