Springfield Public Schools Agricultural Magnet School

Olsson Inc. is the civil and geotechnical engineer and landscape architect for the $5.5 million agricultural magnet school on the campus of Missouri State University’s Darr Agricultural Center. In partnership with MSU, Springfield Public Schools will serve up to 150 fourth through sixth graders in its AgAcademy program. School officials say the program is designed for students interested in agricultural studies and provides hands-on learning. Arkifex Studios LLC designed the 15,137-square-foot building with a commercial-grade kitchen, laboratory space, greenhouse and garden, projects officials say. Snyder Construction Group LLC is the general contractor, with additional engineering work by J&M Engineering LLC, structural; and Interpres Building Solutions LLC, mechanical, electrical and plumbing. The project, funded by an investment from the Darr Family Foundation, is slated for completion by December.
