Olsson Inc. is the civil engineer for a $500 million health care facility on the Fort Leonard Wood Army base that is estimated to serve 34,000 people. Officials say the campus will include a 256,000-square-foot hospital, 189,000-square-foot health clinic, an ambulance garage, a central utility plant, a helipad, stormwater management systems and vehicle access improvements. The project is administered through the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Kansas City District for the Defense Health Agency. RLF Architecture (Orlando, Florida) is the project architect and mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineer, while J.E. Dunn Construction Group Inc. is the general contractor and Land 3 Studio LLC (Lee’s Summit) is the landscape engineer. Construction is estimated to be complete in fall 2023.
The Republic School District is on track to open its Intermediate School for fifth- and sixth-grade students for the 2025-26 academic year.
