Buxton Kubik Dodd Design Collective is the project architect and mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineer for James River Church’s newest campus in Joplin. Officials say the project converted a 75,000-square-foot former grocery store into four auditoriums, a large atrium, coffee shop, classrooms, multipurpose spaces and dedicated kids’ areas. There’s also room for planned growth in the space. Existing drive-thru canopy structures were repurposed into youth auditorium entrances, and the main entrance features a perforated metal screen structure. Crossland Construction Co. Inc. is the general contractor, and Pinnacle Design Consultants LLC is the structural engineer. The project is slated for completion in August.
The Republic School District is on track to open its Intermediate School for fifth- and sixth-grade students for the 2025-26 academic year.
