Project description: Burnsville, Minnesota-based Northern Tool and Equipment is coming this fall to James River Commons between Sam’s Club and Walmart Neighborhood Market. Roughly one-third of the building is designed as warehouse space, project officials say, with the remainder a retail showroom. Northern Tool, which sells tools for automotive, farming, trucking, food service and other industries, operates more than 100 stores, including Missouri locations in Arnold, Independence and St. Peters, according to its website. H Design Group LLC is the project architect, and engineering work is by Olsson Inc., civil; Mettemeyer Engineering LLC, structural; and CJD Engineering LLC, mechanical, electrical and plumbing.
