Springfield Public Schools secure entrances
Eight school sites
True Engineering Group LLC is the mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineer for a project to add secure entrances to eight Springfield Public Schools for safety improvements. Officials say the secure entrances are designed as controlled paths of entry with security cameras, intercoms and electronic locks that allow school staff to control access to the building. This $1.2 million job calls for updates to Pleasant View, Reed, Jarrett, Pipkin, Phelps, Pershing, Carver and Wilson’s Creek schools. Dake Wells Architecture Inc. is the project architect, and DeWitt & Associates Inc. is the general contractor. Mettemeyer Engineering LLC is the structural engineer for the project slated for completion by September.
The Republic School District is on track to open its Intermediate School for fifth- and sixth-grade students for the 2025-26 academic year.
