The Missouri Supreme Court issued a ruling in favor of concentrated animal feeding operations, or CAFOs.
The ruling indicates that a state law prohibiting counties from imposing regulations on industrial hog facilities does not violate the Missouri Constitution.
The Missouri General Assembly in 2019 passed a bill prohibiting county CAFO rules that are “inconsistent with or more stringent than” state law or regulation.
