A California jury ordered Starbucks to pay $50 million in damages to a delivery driver.
In the suit, Michael Garcia alleged he “suffered severe burns, disfigurement and debilitating nerve damage to his genitals when hot drinks ultimately spilled" onto his lap.
An improperly secured drink spilled on Garcia when it was being handed to him by a barista, according to the lawsuit.
Starbucks plans to appeal the jury's verdict.
