Stack will be honored at 1:30 p.m. April 13 at OTC’s Multipurpose Hall, 1001 E. Chestnut Expressway. Following the award presentation, Stack will sit on stage with Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce President Jim Anderson for “A Conversation with Jack Stack.”
“They’ll have a laid-back conversation about how (Stack) started, how innovative he has been, his beginnings in businesses, to writing ‘The Great Game of Business,’ to his community involvement and helping other businesses around town be successful,” said OTC Director of Public Relations and Communications Joel Doepker.
Stack is the third recipient of the award. Past winners were John Q. Hammons in 2005 and the O’Reilly family in 2006.
The award is based on criteria developed by OTC’s Students in Free Enterprise team. Recipients must lead an Ozarks business, have achieved entrepreneurial success, have demonstrated innovative growth, support educational development, have overcome challenges with integrity, strive for customer-driven quality, and provide opportunities for community enrichment.
Stack is the founder of SRC Holdings Corp. in Springfield and is nationally known for having developed an open-management style of operating a business.
A limited number of tickets to the event are available for $10. To register, call (417) 447-8888. Refreshments will be provided.
Event sponsors are SIFE, Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce, Springfield Business Journal and OnMedia/Mediacom.
