St. Louis Public Schools approves record high raises

St. Louis Public Schools is implementing the largest raises on record for district employees.

Most staff will get an 8% pay increase in July.

A new starting teacher salary of $45,136 will move St. Louis into the No. 2 spot in the state, behind Clayton at $45,630. The Missouri National Education Association reports the St. Louis district's current starting salary of $41,793 ranks it No. 21 statewide.
