Posted online

Longtime KY3 Inc. news anchor Steve Grant and retired Columbus State University music teacher Earl Coleman are this year's inductees into the Springfield Public Schools Hall of Fame.

Grant, class of 1972 at Hillcrest High School, and Coleman, class of 1965 at Parkview High School, are slated to be honored tomorrow via a ceremony at White River Conference Center, according to a news release. They join past inductees including Bass Pro Shops founder Johnny Morris, CoxHealth President and CEO Steve Edwards, and U.S. Attorney for the Western District Tim Garrison.

Earlier this year, Grant received Evangel University's first honorary doctorate of humane letters. He's currently president of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Mid-America Chapter of the Emmy Awards, and he's been active in organizations such as Honor Flight of the Ozarks and Springfield Workshop Foundation.

At Columbus State in Georgia, Coleman served as faculty scholar chair in voice and dean until his recent retirement, according to the release. He has sung in more than 60 orchestras, and he had an extensive teaching career at schools including the University of Missouri and The Barstow School in Kansas City.
