Springfield mattress manufacturer moves HQ

Springfield mattress manufacturer iSense has relocated its headquarters after leasing a building in the northeast part of the city.

Paul Longman, founder and CEO of iSense, said the company moved Aug. 2 to 424 N. Cedarbrook Ave., near the Chestnut Expressway interchange at U.S. Highway 65. The company operated downtown at 333 S. Jefferson Ave. since it launched in 2017.

“We’ve developed something unique with the creation of our iSense mattresses,” Longman said in a news release. “It really is the next generation of sleep technology, and it’s something our customers, as well as the industry, are really beginning to see.

"Demand has grown so much over the last year that we’ve very quickly needed to find a facility that can handle more manufacturing, warehousing and distribution.”

According to past Springfield Business Journal reporting, iSense offers adjustable mattresses that operate through a smartphone application. It's a unit of parent company Advanced Sleep Technologies LLC.

To date this year, Longman said iSense has generated $7 million in sales and sold 2,000 units, with 12 people currently employed. The company’s website shows mattresses starting at $1,759.

The company's new headquarters boosts its space considerably, going to 70,000 square feet from 4,800 square feet downtown. Longman said Advanced Sleep Technologies, which has other brands, as well, also moved to North Cedarbrook Avenue, though the vast majority of the new space is for iSense.

“Our direct-to-consumer model is really beginning to take hold,” Longman said in the release. “We’ve got orders coming in from not just the states, but all over the world. This space gives us room to really flex our capacity and meet that global demand."

A listing from LoopNet.com indicates the building previously was used by National Safety Compliance. The financial terms of the lease agreement were undisclosed.
