Springfield investment advisory firm SignalPoint Asset Management LLC has joined a platform operated by New York-based Farther, providing back-office support for the local company.
SignalPoint, which has roughly $650 million in client assets under management, represents Farther’s largest partnership to date, according to a news release issued this month. Through the agreement, the Springfield-based company is now operating as SignalPoint powered by Farther.
"We have built our firm by delivering thoughtful, personalized financial strategies to our clients and their families," said Jon Timson, CEO of SignalPoint, in the release. “We chose Farther because their technology and operational infrastructure align with our vision for growth. This partnership allows us to scale efficiently while continuing to deliver the high-touch service our clients expect and deserve."
The partnership gives SignalPoint access to Farther’s administrative support for functions such as marketing, compliance and human resources, as well as technology tools and an investment desk. SignalPoint retains full ownership of its client books, and in exchange pays an undisclosed revenue split to Farther.
"At Farther, advisers have the flexibility of managing their business the way they know best with the resources of a platform built to help them scale and deepen client relationships,” said Taylor Matthews, CEO and co-founder of Farther, in the release. “SignalPoint’s decision to join Farther highlights the strength of our platform and our shared vision for the future of wealth management.”
SignalPoint, which was founded as an independent registered investment adviser in 2008, serves roughly 500 Midwest families with services such as financial planning, portfolio management and family planning services. The company also has an office in Madison, Wisconsin.
Farther, also a registered investment adviser, manages more than $5 billion in assets, with over 100 wealth managers and 5,000 clients, according to the release.
The Springfield Daily Citizen was first to report on SignalPoint's agreement with Farther.
