Des Moines, Iowa-based The Waldinger Corp. has expanded its holdings in Springfield with the acquisition of an electric company founded in 1999.
Trinity Electric Co., founded by Mark and Brenda Bolin, was purchased by Waldinger Corp., effective Jan. 15, according to a news release. The financial terms were undisclosed.
Trinity Electric Co. maintains its name and 12 union electricians through the deal. The Bolins plan to retire after a transition period.
“When Mark and I first started Trinity Electric more than 25 years ago, we could have never envisioned selling it,” Brenda Bolin said in the release. “As we prepare to transition into retirement, we’re grateful to have found a partner in Waldinger that we trust to care for our employees and clients in the same way that we have for so many years."
Trinity Electric, which operates at 1411 W. Phelps St., provides commercial, residential and industrial electrical service work for southwest Missouri clients.
The electric company is the latest Springfield business purchased by Waldinger Corp., following the acquisitions of Connelly Plumbing and sister company CMI Mechanical in 2021 and Horton Electric Service Co. in 2023.
"Trinity Electric has a long track record of success and a great reputation throughout the community," said Derek Hileman, president of Waldinger Service, in the release. "Their electrical service offering is an excellent complement to our existing electrical contracting and commercial HVAC, plumbing and refrigeration service capabilities in Springfield. With this acquisition, we can now offer the full suite of mechanical contracting and service capabilities to clients throughout southwest Missouri."
