A medical marijuana dispensary in Springfield is now operating under a new name after entering a branding agreement with an Arkansas-based cannabis company.
Ozarx Botanicals on July 7 announced via Facebook the change to Good Day Farm Springfield.
"You will notice many changes, but many things are not changing, only improving," the post reads. "What will be changing is our logo, our paint and our name."
Kim Andrews, general manager and an original investor of Ozarx Botanicals, said via email the change represents "a branding agreement with Good Day Farm."
She declined to say whether Good Day Farm purchased an equity stake in the business.
Lisa Cox, director of communications for the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services, which oversees the state's medical marijuana program, said a transfer or sale of a dispensary license to a new entity is something the department would need to approve. Earlier this week, the DHSS had not received such documentation related to Ozarx Botanicals or Good Day Farm, she said.
Good Day Farm additionally has dispensaries in Cape Girardeau, Independence, Jackson and Kennett, as well as three locations in Arkansas, according to its website.
Ozarx Botanicals opened in early 2021 in 2,500 square feet at 3800 W. Sunshine St., Ste. 100, in Springfield Plaza, according to past reporting. It was one of the first dispensaries to open in the Queen City after voters approved medical marijuana legalization through Amendment 2 in November 2018.
Utah-based gourmet cookie chain Crumbl Cookies opened its first Springfield shop; interior design business Branson Upstaging LLC relocated; and Lauren Ashley Dance Center LLC added a second location.
