Springfield-based Trinity Housing Development LLC is partnering on a new $63.6 million housing project underway in Phoenix, Arizona.
Trinity Housing Development and Phoenix-based Catholic Charities Community Services Inc. affiliate Housing for Hope Inc. broke ground late last month on an affordable housing project dubbed Mesquite Terrace, according to a news release. The 297-unit, three-building development is slated for completion by the end of 2023.
“Mesquite Terrace addresses the desperate need for affordable housing in the Valley,” Catholic Charities President and CEO Paul Mulligan said in the release, referring to the Phoenix metropolitan area. “As a community, we’re a long way from overcoming the shortage, but that’s why we developed Housing for Hope Inc. in order to take an aggressive role in the effort and partner with other Valley organizations and developers to provide solutions.”
The development's financing includes tax-exempt bonds through the city of Phoenix and low-income housing tax credits. Rental rates will be determined by tenants’ income levels.
Trinity Housing Development, which anticipates new housing communities on the horizon in partnership with Catholic Charities, is a nationwide developer of senior and family housing, as well as historic rehabilitation and renovation, according to its website.
Trinity Housing Development’s portfolio lists one local project: a 48-unit family housing project in Willard called Fox River Estates. The company is led by partners Ryan and Douglas Hamilton and Mike Hamra, according to its website.
