The Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce has economic development initiatives in its sights with the launch of a new strategic plan.
Called The Chamber PATH, an acronym for partnerships and action on transformative and high-impact work, the plan sets the roadmap for the next five years, according to a news release. The plan first was unveiled at the chamber's Jan. 31 annual meeting.
“The chamber board and staff spent much of 2024 reviewing data, gathering feedback and learning from experts to develop a bold strategic plan that will leverage and maximize the chamber’s role as a leader in fostering economic growth to benefit communities, businesses, organizations and residents of southwest Missouri for years to come,” said Bob Helm, chamber board chair, in the release. "This is a pivotal moment for the region. We have a clear vision and the tools necessary to move forward."
The Chamber PATH 2025-30 strategic plan four priorities listed in the release:
• Leading regional economic development by building a data-driven model with local and regional partners to promote the 10-county Springfield region
• Growing the workforce-ready population through talent attraction and retention efforts, as well as by addressing child care, housing and public safety challenges
• Strengthening and supporting businesses through advocacy and networking opportunities
• Operating with excellence by engaging volunteers, businesses and stakeholders through membership, communications and events
