Springfield business owner Craig Kauffman died Nov. 25. He was 63.
Kauffman's obituary at GreenlawnFuneralHome.com cited "a short illness."
Kauffman co-founded Associated Video Producers Inc. in 1982 with Jim Lewis, according to a news release. Kauffman and his wife, Michelle, took over full ownership in 1994. Kauffman's son, Bryan, will operate the business after working with his father at AVP since 2008.
Kauffman and AVP are known for marketing campaigns such as "And I'm Not Kidding" for PFI Western Store, as well as video productions for the Springfield Convention & Visitors Bureau. The full-service production company was a finalist in 2003 for the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce's W. Curtis Strube Small Business Award.
The company’s clients have included American Express, Weight Watchers and McDonald's, according to Springfield Business Journal archives.
The Republic School District is on track to open its Intermediate School for fifth- and sixth-grade students for the 2025-26 academic year.
