Toth & Associates Inc. is the civil and structural engineer for the rebuild and expansion of the $37.8 million Waynesville Middle School. Phase I, completed in 2018, included academic classrooms and eight science laboratories. Construction of Phase II includes music classrooms that double as storm shelters, special education classrooms, art classes, offices and renovated gymnasiums. Bales Construction Co. Inc. (Waynesville) is the general contractor of the new 234,400-square-foot facility that can accommodate up to 960 seventh and eighth graders. Dickinson Hussman Architects PC (St. Louis) is the project architect, and FSG Facility Solutions Group Inc. (Austin, Texas) is the mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineer. Phase II is slated for completion by September.
Missouri State University’s science building, built in 1971 and formerly called Temple Hall, is being reconstructed and updated.
