A 20-acre sports complex is planned in Ozark.
D1 Sports teased the development in a Dec. 6 Facebook post. The development includes a 37,000-square-foot building to be used for indoor competitions. Development representative Nate Sallie said it would likely be January before D1 Sports is ready to provide additional details on the plans.
The sport complex's Facebook page indicates the development would have basketball, volleyball, soccer and flag football leagues, tournaments and camps. Eight youth soccer fields and one dedicated championship field is in the works.
Organizers are planning a summer 2021 launch, according to the Facebook page. Additionally, D1's website shows the development is slated to be built on Highway NN across from Ozark Middle School. Buf Studio is the project architect.
D1’s announcement comes as two multimillion-dollar sports complexes are being planned in Springfield. A $10 million upgrade to the Lake Country Soccer Inc. complex at Cooper Park might be in the works at the same time a $12-$16 million multisports complex is proposed on the city’s northwest side, according to past Springfield Business Journal reporting.
