Southwest Airlines CEO Bob Jordan says a recession has already hit the airline industry.
“I don’t care if you call it a recession or not, in this industry that’s a recession," Jordan told Bloomberg.
Southwest Airlines has seen its demand in domestic leisure travel drop at a pace not seen since the COVID-19 pandemic, according to Jordan.
