Fayetteville, Arkansas-based Slim Chickens is facing a franchisee lawsuit.
R Solution Holdings LLC, R Solution 2.0 LLC and SCMO Development Group LLC, which share ownership, allege in the lawsuit that prospective franchisees are provided with misleading financial information. The suit alleges "the misrepresentations were not merely puffery or isolated exaggerations, but part of a systemic sales strategy designed to obscure the risks and realities of the Slim Chickens franchise system."
A statement from Slim Chickens said the restaurant chain "categorically denies the allegations." Further, the statement claims the lawsuit is attempting to "shift blame for longstanding, well-documented performance issues."
