Silver Dollar City is teasing what officials say will be "the largest investment in the company’s 65-year history."
The Branson theme park, which has invested tens of millions of dollars in recent years in expansion projects, revealed in a media advisory that Oct. 17 would serve as the unveiling date for "a once-in-a-lifetime announcement at Silver Dollar City."
The media advisory indicates details would be released related to the development of some 1,200 acres adjacent to the park. Silver Dollar City President Brad Thomas said last year that plans were in the works for adjacent land the park owns.
Silver Dollar City in 2022 purchased 836 acres in Stone County that had once been the proposed site for the failed $1.6 billion Indian Ridge Resort, according to past reporting. The land is adjacent to property that Silver Dollar City owns or leases, a spokesperson said at the time.
Silver Dollar City this season opened the second generation of its Fire in the Hole attraction, which at $30 million is the most ever spent on a single attraction at the park, Thomas previously said.
The $26 million Time Traveler roller coaster debuted in 2018, and in 2022, Silver Dollar City announced a $30 million investment comprising a housing project for college student interns; parking, roadways and infrastructure improvements; and a store and restaurant.
Dame Chiropractic LLC emerged as the new name of Harshman Chiropractic Clinic LLC with the purchase of the business; Leo Kim added a second venture, Keikeu LLC, to 14 Mill Market; and Mercy Springfield Communities opened its second primary care clinic in Ozark.
