Silver Dollar City has picked up its seventh win in an annual holiday poll by USA Today readers.
Four weeks of voting led to Silver Dollar City's An Old Time Christmas being named the best theme park holiday event in USA Today's 10Best reader poll, according to a news release.
“We are so thankful for our friends from all over who took time to vote,” said Brad Thomas, president of Silver Dollar City, in the release. “Christmas is such a special time for us, and we’re grateful to our fans for highlighting the city as the nation’s must-visit holiday destination."
An Old Time Christmas, which runs through Jan. 4, includes more than 6.5 million lights, two Broadway-style shows and an eight-story Christmas tree with LED light shows.
The rankings in this year's 10Best best theme park holiday event are as follows:
1. An Old Time Christmas at Silver Dollar City
2. Christmas Celebration at SeaWorld
3. Christmas Town at Busch Gardens
4. Holiday in the Park at Six Flags
5. Smoky Mountain Christmas at Dollywood
6. Christmastime at Santa's Village
7. Holidays at Legoland
8. Christmas Candylane at Hersheypark
9. WinterFest at Kings Dominion
10. Christmas Fantasy with Lights at Storybook Land
An Old Time Christmas previously won the 10Best honor in 2015, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2021 and 2023, according to past reporting.
April 7 was the official opening day for Mexican-Italian fusion restaurant Show Me Chuy after a soft launch that started March 31; marketing agency AdZen debuted; and the Almighty Sando Shop opened a brick-and-mortar space.
