Missouri's unemployment rate dipped in February, according to newly released state data.
Last month, the state's unemployment rate was 3.7%, down from a revised January rate of 3.8%, according to a news release from the Missouri Economic Research and Information Center. The data are seasonally adjusted.
During February, the state's nonfarm payroll employment grew by 9,200 jobs to roughly 2.9 million.
Industries with job increases included trade, transportation and utilities, up 3,600; professional and business services, up 1,900; leisure and hospitality, up 1,600; mining, logging and construction, up 1,400; and financial activities, up 1,000. Missouri’s government employment sector decreased by 1,300 jobs in February, according to the release.
The Republic School District is on track to open its Intermediate School for fifth- and sixth-grade students for the 2025-26 academic year.
