The main problem is that people don't understand (or in many cases care) that the TURNING lane is just that: a turning lane. NOT a MERGING lane. Almost all median accidents are from improper use of the central turning lane; it is actually illegal to use as a merging lane for that specific reason. Campbell street has a similar issue.
