Republic spokesperson returning to TV news

Posted online

Mike Landis is returning to the airwaves after a three-year stint as the public information officer for the city of Republic.

Landis announced in a public Facebook post that he would start in April as a weekend anchor and weeknight reporter for KOLR10.

"Since leaving local news in 2018, I’ve had many viewers ask if I ever miss it. Truth is, yes – a big part of me has," he said in the post.

Prior to joining the Republic municipality, Landis served as a multimedia journalist for KY3 Inc. He previously worked at KTTS and KQTV in St. Joseph, according to past reporting.

At the city of Republic, Landis has led public relations as the area has grown with new developments. Projects underway in the city include Amazon's 1.3 million-square-foot fulfillment center and Convoy of Hope's 230,000-square-foot distribution center.

“It has been an exciting adventure working as Republic’s public information officer,” he said in the Facebook post. “The residents have made me feel like family, and I’ve been grateful for the opportunity to serve with a top-notch staff and leadership team.”

Landis comes to KOLR10 after the recent exit of anchor and reporter David Oliver.
