Records obtained through a Sunshine Law request by The Missouri Independent and the Documenting COVID-19 project found the Parson administration withheld information from the public on the effectiveness of face masks.
The Sunshine request unveiled an analysis by the Department of Health and Senior Services that showed the effectiveness of mask mandates by comparing infection and death rates in St. Louis, St. Louis County, Kansas City and Jackson County with the rest of the state.
The report has raised eyebrows over why the details of the report have not been made available to the public.
On Twitter, Parson described the article as “purposefully misleading” and said it left out important context.
