Parson seeks new office to improve response to floods, drought

Gov. Mike Parson is seeking $10.4 million from state lawmakers to create a new office focused on Missouri's response to floods and drought.

Budget documents show Parson's request for the Missouri Hydrology Information Center within the Department of Natural Resources.

The 2019 floods in the Missouri and Mississippi river basins caused roughly $20 billion in losses.
