The city of Ozark has hired longtime city of Springfield staffer Randall Whitman to oversee its planning and development efforts.
Whitman started Jan. 21 as Ozark's community development director, according to a news release. In that role, he oversees the Ozark Planning & Development Department, said Maria Neider, communications director for the city of Ozark.
“Randall brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record from his time with the city of Springfield," said Eric Johnson, Ozark city administrator, in the release. "His expertise and vision will be invaluable as we continue fostering community growth and development. We look forward to the positive impact he will have on Ozark.”
Whitman succeeds Cameron Smith, who was promoted in October to assistant city administrator.
Whitman previously worked for nearly two decades at the city of Springfield as a principal planner in the Department of Planning and Development, according to the release.
