OTC, SBU sign articulation agreement for business degrees

Posted online

Two Springfield area colleges signed an articulation agreement this month to make it easier for students to pursue degrees in business education.

Ozarks Technical Community College and Southwest Baptist University today announced the partnership that will allow OTC graduates who earn an associate degree in business the opportunity to pursue any of SBU’s business-related bachelor’s degrees.

“This is another agreement between OTC and SBU that will allow OTC’s students in business to transfer to SBU and earn their bachelor’s degree,” said Lance Renner, dean of general education and business at OTC, in the release. “Our students can have confidence all of their credits will transfer seamlessly and allow them to achieve their degree in the shortest amount of time.”

The associate of arts in business degree at OTC is often referred to as a “transfer degree,” officials say, because it is designed for students who plan to continue their education.

“The business division at SBU embraces the opportunity to partner with OTC to facilitate the smoothest transition for students into any of our 10 innovative, market-driven bachelor's degree programs,” said Nathan Wright, division head and associate professor of business at SBU, in the release.
