O'Reilly Automotive Inc. (Nasdaq: ORLY) has entered an agreement with the U.S. Army.
The Springfield-based auto parts retailer on Friday signed a memorandum of understanding to participate in the Army’s Partnership for Your Success program, according to a news release. The program guarantees soldiers interviews with PaYS partners and organizations who sign on a steady stream of employment candidates.
“O'Reilly's story is America’s story,” Army Lt. Col. Nicholas Swoboda said in the release. “It demonstrates how generations of leaders and employees at O'Reilly have taken advantage of the many opportunities our great nation provides. And O’Reilly’s values have a lot in common with the Army’s values, which tells me soldiers feel right at home as part of the O’Reilly family. It’s a great match.”
Shari Reaves, senior vice president of O’Reilly Automotive's human resources and training, said the PaYS program is a good culture fit for the company.
"Our veteran team members appreciate our promote-from-within philosophy which creates more than just a job. At O’Reilly, hard work gets promotions, providing our team members with a career," Reaves said in the release.
During the second quarter, O'Reilly Automotive reported profits of $622.8 million, or $10.55 per diluted share, compared with $627.4 million, or $10.22 per diluted share, a year earlier, according to past reporting.
ORLY shares were trading at $1,121.91 as of 9:43 a.m., compared with a 52-week range of $860.10 to $1,169.11 per share.
