Wire Road Brewing Co.
Battlefield entered the craft brewery scene with the Jan. 17 opening of Wire Road Brewing Co. LLC. Jeff Bircher, who co-owns the 3,600-square-foot brewery with wife Angela and friends Kary and Deanna Walker, said the project’s cost was just shy of $2 million. Wire Road is at 4453 Timbercreek Ave., fronting West Bypass south of Republic Road. Nesbitt Construction Inc. was general contractor for the brewery designed by Esterly Schneider & Associates Inc. Jeff Birchler said Wire Road has indoor seating for 90 and a covered, heated patio that can seat another 60 people. An outdoor space can hold three food trucks, he said. The 20-employee brewery sells 10 in-house beers on tap, as well as kombucha, hard seltzer and wine. Coffee is supplied by Battlefield-based Copper Canyon Coffee Roasters to draw customers in the morning.

Garrison Heating & Air
A veteran of the HVAC industry opened Garrison Heating & Air LLC on Oct. 12 in Kimberling City. The business at 11863 State Highway 13, Ste. 21, in the Kimberling City Shopping Center, near Table Rock Lake, is a first-time ownership venture for Rocky Garrison and his wife, Kylie. Rocky Garrison said he has a six-person staff, though he declined to disclose lease terms or startup costs for his 1,500-square-foot office. He said the company offers heating, ventilation and air conditioning service for residential and commercial customers, as well as for new construction projects. It provides 24/7 service calls and free estimates. A lifelong resident of the Kimberling City area, Garrison has over 20 years of construction experience, but said he’s spent the past seven years doing HVAC work. He most recently was employed for four years with Branson-based D&B HVAC Systems Inc.

Gents Glow: A Self-Care Boutique for Men
First-time business owner Sean Barnhill debuted e-commerce venture Gents Glow: A Self-Care Boutique for Men on Jan. 16. Barnhill, who said he invested roughly $3,000 in startup costs, began the online concept after experiencing difficulty finding self-care products for men all in one place. The boutique launched with around 35 products, such as bath bombs, body soaps and lotions. The goal is to have 50 products for sale on the site by March, he said, noting suppliers include Nixa-based Fox and Hound’s soy candles and Smithville, Texas-based Mixologie’s body washes. Prices range $7-$24, according to the website. Barnhill, who works in communications and marketing for the Missouri State University College of Business, said 5% of Gents Glow sales benefit local nonprofit Breast Cancer Foundation of the Ozarks. He said partnerships with brick-and-mortar boutiques is a goal.
