Wellness Collective
Wellness Collective LLC launched downtown Jan. 29 at 401 W. McDaniel St. to offer yoga, group fitness classes and personal care therapies, such as massage, esthetics and holistic wellness services. Owner Amy Reaves said she invested $850,000 in startup costs for the venture, which included the building purchase from poultry and swine farming product supplier INDIV, as well as renovation work. She said Wellness Collective houses Pure Wellness LLC, Hawk & Rose Acupuncture & Apothecary and TK Esthetics LLC in the 7,000-square-foot space. Services at Pure Wellness, also owned by Reaves, include massage, facials, lash services and reiki, an energy healing technique. Reaves said she started Pure Wellness in her home six years ago, then transitioned to a brick-and-mortar shop in 2017. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she said the Wellness Collective plan originated to better meet client self-care needs in one location.

I Love Tacos Taqueria
Food truck venture I Love Tacos Taqueria LLC expanded May 30 to its first brick-and-mortar restaurant at 2724 E. Chestnut Expressway in Cedar Brook Corners. Yeni Vasquez, who owns the business with husband Aldo, said they desired a bigger kitchen for their food trucks, adding the Chestnut Expressway location fit their needs and provided sit-down dining space. I Love Tacos Taqueria signed on for 1,500 square feet in the shopping center, located down the street from O’Reilly Automotive Inc.’s headquarters. Vasquez declined to disclose startup costs and lease terms. She said six employees work in the new shop, serving the same menu as the food trucks, which includes tacos, burritos, quesadillas, sopes, tamales and tortas. Prices range $2.25-$12. The company’s primary food truck is at 430 Broadview Place, near the West Chestnut Expressway and Interstate 44 interchange. I Love Tacos trucks also travel to events, breweries and businesses.

MLP Accounting & Consulting
After five years of operating MLP Accounting & Consulting as a home-based business, owner Lydia Paasch moved her venture March 21 to 205 Park Central East, Ste. 316, in the Holland Building. MLP offers small businesses accounting and bookkeeping services, including tax assistance, financial systems review and full-service payroll. Paasch said she’s the lone employee working at the 175-square-foot office but employs four others who work remotely with part-time, flexible schedules. She signed a one-year lease with building owners Dr. Bradley and Christine Newberry for $300 a month, as well as an additional $45 monthly for parking access. Paasch said the move to have an office outside the home was spurred after she sold her house in March. She said the new office has helped her regain a better work-life balance and allows for in-person meetings with clients who struggle with technology.
