A husband and wife with medical office experience chose to open a clinic of their own with the April 12 launch of The Village Chiropractic LLC. The first ownership venture for Dr. Tyler and Brenna Alsup opened at 4216 S. Cox Road, Ste. 132, in Magers Crossing. Brenna Alsup said her husband most recently worked for health care clinic Ozzie Smith Center of SWMO. Alsup said she formerly was a manager of a chiropractic office in Fort Worth, Texas, while her husband attended chiropractic school at Parker University in Dallas from 2016-19. The Village Chiropractic offers care for all ages, including treatment for spine-related injuries, such as back pain, sciatica and scoliosis. The clinic also treats other injuries, including carpal tunnel and whiplash. The 2,800-square-foot clinic employs three, she said, declining to disclose startup costs or the five-year lease rate with Magers Management Co.
Hours: 9 a.m.-noon and 3-6 p.m. Monday through Thursday
The newest south-side Dunkin’ restaurant opened May 23 at 2534 S. Campbell Ave. The eatery in Old Town Shopping Center is the second in Springfield for Girish Patel’s franchise company, Bapa Network LLC. Patel said the new store was built to take pressure off Bapa Network’s first Dunkin’ restaurant at 4020 S. Campbell Ave., where traffic often overflows on the side road near Alamo Drafthouse Cinema. BP Builders LLC served as general contractor for the project designed by Wichita, Kansas-based Clarkitecture LLC. Officials declined to disclose startup costs for the 900-square-foot restaurant, which doesn’t have indoor dining but includes two drive-thru lanes that merge to the same pickup point. Emma Corson, a Dunkin’ public relations manager, said the shop employs 15 people led by Manager Gina Bowland. Bapa Network also is behind a Baskin-Robbins and Dunkin’ combo concept currently under construction at 1614 S. Glenstone Ave.

Purple Panda Filipino Food
A married couple who met while working in the food service industry are first-time owners of their own food truck after opening Purple Panda Filipino Food on March 19. The mobile eatery owned by Paul and Fatima Sylvester originally started at Seven Arrows Taproom in Hollister before moving April 11 to a food truck park at 2166 State Highway 248 in Branson. Fatima Sylvester said startup costs were $60,000, adding the couple isn’t on a lease but pays $500 per month plus electricity costs to property owner Chris Carson. Purple Panda sells Philippine cuisine such as chicken and pork belly adobo, fried tilapia and lechon, which is roasted suckling pig. Prices range $6-$15. A native of the Philippines, Sylvester said she and Paul met in 2008 while working in the kitchen at the Hilton hotel in Branson Landing. She said she most recently worked at Cox Medical Center South, first as a cook, then as a pharmacy technician, before exiting to focus full time on Purple Panda.
