The Firm Real Estate LLC
Ozark-based The Firm Real Estate LLC made an April 1 move to 1715 W. James River Road in James River Crossing. The full-service agency previously operated at 1471 W. South St., in the Carl G. Hefner Enterprise Center, a business incubator of the Ozark Chamber of Commerce. Owner Sonya Wells said she had been occasionally looking for a new office over the past year and nearly doubled the space in the move to 1,750 square feet. Remax Solutions formerly occupied the office, Wells said. She declined to disclose relocation costs or the two-year lease rate with DM Ozark LLC. The Firm Real Estate employs 15 and handles residential, farm, land and commercial listings. Wells, a real estate agent since 1988, said she formed the agency in 2014 with husband Rick Wells, who died in 2019. After his death, Wells obtained her broker’s license.

Husband-and-wife Douglas and Alison Gragson moved their counseling practice March 30 to Plaza Towers. Acceptance Counseling Associates LLC is on a three-year lease for $900 per month with Plaza Towers LLC at 1736 E. Sunshine St., Ste. 517. Alison Gragson said they started the business in 2012 and were formerly located at 1531 E. Sunshine St., Ste. W-29. Acceptance Counseling Associates offers counseling and mental health services for all ages, Gragson said. Among the therapies provided at the 940-square-foot office are couples and family counseling, depression and trauma, as well as play therapy. In addition to in-person sessions, she said Acceptance Counseling offers services via video and telephone, but it does not accept insurance coverage. The Gragsons met each other at Missouri State University, where they both obtained master’s degrees in counseling in 2010.

Burrell Behavioral Health-Park Center
A roughly $1 million investment approved last fall by the Greene County Commission led to the May 4 opening of Burrell Behavioral Health’s rapid access unit, 800 S. Park Ave. Burrell spent around $700,000 to renovate 4,000 square feet of its Park Center facility, with Storee Construction Co. as general contractor and Hood-Rich Architecture as designer, said Burrell spokesperson Matt Lemmon. The remaining $300,000 covers staffing and administrative costs, he said. The center was open limited hours in May, but will go to 24/7 status June 1. CoxHealth and Mercy Springfield Communities also invested in the project, with a two-year grant provided by the Missouri Foundation for Health to fund operations. The walk-in center serves as a crisis point for those needing immediate psychiatric care, opioid abuse treatment and intake for behavioral health services. Lemmon said the facility is intended as a referral option for law enforcement and emergency departments.
