Tangles Salon
After purchasing Tangles Salon from previous owner Hailey Shepard in April 2024, Shane Pinjuv spent several months renovating its 1,500-square-foot space in advance of a Nov. 1 reopening. The salon, which operates at 3051 S. Kimbrough Ave., Ste. D, offers haircuts for men and women, along with hair dying, lightening and extensions. Pinjuv said Tangles operates under a business model where each stylist is an independent contractor, setting their own pricing for services. Haircuts at the salon start at $50, he said. Pinjuv said he invested roughly $113,000 in the purchase and renovation of the salon, declining to disclose lease terms. Before relocating to Springfield in early 2024, Pinjuv lived in Joplin, where he previously owned two hair salons, The White Rhino and Crush Salon LLC. His daughter, Ciarra Berkowicz, is now in charge at Crush, he said. Pinjuv began a career in cosmetology after spending nearly 15 years as a professional dancer and model, where he worked with brands such as Neiman Marcus.

The Embers Glamping & RV Resort
Dec. 10 was the grand opening for The Embers Glamping & RV Resort, a venture at 139 Irish Lane, off Highway 165, in Branson. Owners Ryan and Heather Meuer, who have experience managing vacation rental properties in Branson, chose to jump into a larger real estate project with The Embers, which began renting to visitors in October. It has 50 hookup sites for RVs and 17 glamping options, which include a mix of 15 tents and two cabins. Five of the sites are treehouse tents, which are elevated 10 feet off the ground and include private hot tubs. All but five of the glamping units have private bathrooms. Ryan Meuer said the couple invested roughly $5.5 million in startup costs for the venture, which included about $3.8 million for the land purchase and construction. The Meuers own the business, which employs a staff of 10, through The Embers Branson LLC. Aside from on-site glamping and RV options, amenities include a walkup and drive-thru coffee shop, a swimming pool, fire pits, laundry facilities and a convenience store.

Homewood Suites by Hilton
The south-side Homewood Suites by Hilton hotel changed ownership on Dec. 3. Hotelier Tim O’Reilly said an entity he operates – South National Hotel Partners LLC – bought the 4340 S. National Ave. hotel from Reliance Hotels LLC for undisclosed terms. Dubbed Homewood Suites by Hilton Springfield Medical District, the 122-room hotel employs 45 people and is led by manager Susan Smith, according to officials. O’Reilly said O’Reilly Hospitality Management, which he leads as CEO, is now managing the Homewood Suites hotel, located on the Medical Mile at National Avenue and Lark Street south of James River Freeway. Reliance Hotels opened Homewood Suites by Hilton in March 2022 after breaking ground on the $17.2 million project in 2019. O’Reilly Hospitality Management’s website lists 26 hotels in its portfolio, including DoubleTree by Hilton in Springfield. A deed of trust on file with the Greene County recorder’s office between South National Hotel Partners and Central Bank lists a note amount of nearly $19 million for the Homewood Suites property.
