Mirowski Inspections LLC on Feb. 29 acquired Guardian Home Inspections LLC for undisclosed terms. President Steve Mirowski, who co-owns the business at 331 E. Water St., Ste. 107, with his wife and operations manager Dana, said the deal involved the purchase of Guardian’s equipment, and it brought on Guardian owner Scott Sharp as an inspector. With a 19-year history in the Springfield area, Mirowski said his company would maintain Guardian’s phone number and website to help transition Sharp’s customer base. Mirowski Inspections performs termite and septic inspections, mold, asbestos and lead paint sampling, thermal imaging and radon testing. Teter Enterprise LLC dba Electric Puff Vapor Shop
Teter Enterprise LLC owner Russell Teter opened Electric Puff Vapor Shop on Sept. 4 at 3111 E. Sunshine St. With 25 years experience as a district manager for Carthage-based convenience store wholesaler Grace Energy Corp., Teter got into the vapor shop business shortly after a corporate buyout. Estimating startup costs at $60,000, he leases 1,200 square feet in The Wooten Co.-owned strip center for undisclosed terms. Electric Puff carries vaporizer kits and 130 flavors of e-liquid from 30 brands, including those produced in southwest Missouri by Twizted Vape Juices LLC, Pinnacle Vapor LLC and Royal Clouds. Teter said liquids retail for 10-50 cents per milliliter, while personal vaporizers, aka mods, sell for $60-$189 and vaporizer tanks cost $25-$50. The Golden Girl Rum Club
The Golden Girl Rum Club opened March 4 at 137 Park Central Square, the former home of novelty gift store Retro Nouveau. Operating under Rhum House Properties LLC, the bar and restaurant is owned by Springfield lifestyle blog A Beautiful Mess co-owner Emma Chapman and her husband Trey George, the blog’s business development manager, as well as Scotch & Soda co-owner Joshua Widner and his half-brother Rogan Howitt. The business partners purchased the building in June for an undisclosed amount from Sam Freeman. The 1,500-square-foot first-floor establishment employs 11 specializing in a variety of rum-based cocktails that range from $8 to $14. Food items include Cuban and pressed cheese sandwiches, ribs and pizza. A Beautiful Mess rents office space on the top floor. Hours: 11 a.m.–2 p.m. and 5 p.m.–1 a.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
